Rates & Policies


All room rates are based on single or double occupancy and include a freshly prepared, hot breakfast each morning.  Standard room direct booking rates at our Bed & Breakfast in New Orleans are generally between $125 and $195.  Rates may be higher for certain high-end special events like Superbowl.  Suites are priced between $185 and $295 per night.  A 3-night minimum stay is required for most weekends, while 2-nights are the norm for most weekday bookings.

Certain peak periods like Mardi Gras, French Quarter Festival, Jazz Fest, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Sugar Bowl may command a four or five-night minimum-stay.  Rooms are typically sold as part of a package for those special events.  Other special event rates at our Bed & Breakfast in New Orleans are priced and subject to minimum stay requirements according to market conditions.

Taxes and fees are estimated when the reservation is made, but will be collected from the guest at the time of arrival based on the tax rate effective at that time.  Tax rates are subject to change and are indicated by the State of Louisiana, the City of New Orleans, and various agencies controlled under their auspices.


Payment types accepted:

  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Cash.
  • Personal Checks and Money Orders accepted for advance payments only.

Deposit Requirements:

  • 50% of total less taxes is required for all direct bookings.
  • Full prepayment is due 30-60 days prior to arrival for certain special events and group bookings.
  • Reservations made via OTA third-party booking websites require full payment at time of booking.

Check In: By Appointment. We ask that all guests provide their estimated arrival time and airline or train itinerary, if applicable. We welcome early arrivals after 10 am or even earlier with advance notice and by special arrangement, but absolutely no arrivals prior to 8 am. We may set up a lockbox for guests arriving between 3-6 pm or those arriving very late at night so that they may let themselves into the home. We’ll forward those details to you in advance, if necessary.

Check Out: 11:00 AM. Sorry, no exceptions, as we need to get the rooms ready for the next guest.


  • Reservations that are canceled by the guest may be rescheduled once without penalty, assuming that notice of cancellation was received in a timely fashion. Deposit amounts will be retained as a house credit and applied towards the future reservation. Subsequent cancellations of the rescheduled booking will result in cancellation / rescheduling fees of 25% of the original booking.
  • No shows (including certain suspect day of arrival “cancellations”) will forfeit the rights to any credits of their deposit amounts and may be subject to additional charges equal to the full amount of the reservation plus any damages.
  • Cash or credit refunds may be offered in certain limited circumstances if sufficient notice has been received of the cancellation AND the room nights canceled were rebooked to another party for a comparable rate and term. A minimum $50 cancellation fee (per room cancelled) will be deducted from the refund amount.
  • House credits are not transferable to a third-party without the express written approval of the innkeeper/manager of the HH Whitney House Bed & Breakfast in New Orleans.
  • Any advertising of house credits or gift certificates for sale to third parties via, but not limited to, websites or other media such as Craigslist, will automatically void that credit or certificate and no reparations will be made for the lost value of said credit or certificate.
