Our Cypress door-panel bed, hand-crafted from two doors that once connected the Groom’s Room to the servants’ wing of the house, highlights this masculine-themed room. The queen bed is flanked by a pair of French Provincial Louis XVI armchairs which will embrace you in comfortable style while you read your that novel you brought along or enjoy that movie you’ve been waiting to see on the 20″ flat panel TV with built-in DVD player and digital satellite signal.
The Groom’s Room also features a writing desk and chair, cedar wardrobe chest, ceiling fan and two large windows that will let in lots of light once the draperies are drawn back. Cotton Chadsworth & Haig waffle bathrobes and slippers are provided for your use during your stay as well as luxurious towels from the Turkish Towel Company, high-quality Comphy bed linens and Aromae-brand botanical bath amenities. Each room is also equipped with hairdryer, iron & board, room safe, and smoke alarm.
Occupants of the Groom’s Room utilize the home’s very first indoor bathroom, which was added to the house circa 1900 when indoor plumbing became available. The hall bath is located just a few steps outside of the guest room and features an extra long 6-foot antique claw-foot tub with shower. A separate water closet houses the commode which allows two guests to use the bath at once in total privacy. This bath may occasionally be shared with guests in the Bride’s Room if that room is occupied and not rented as part of our deluxe two-bedroom suite.
